Place the edge of the fabric under the presser foot (wrong side up) so that it is almost flush with the inside edge of your right thumb, then sew 4–5 stitches. Raise the presser foot and needle, then pull the fabric and threads back (leaving enough thread). Do not cut the threads. Hold the four threads with your left hand, and with your right hand, hold the edge of the fabric while inserting it into the foot's looper. Lower the presser foot and continue sewing. As you sew, bend the fabric slightly, keeping it to the left. Guide the fabric evenly.
