Instructions
Turn off the machine.
Applications:
Finish edges with bias binding.
Stitch: Straight stitch (alternatively, narrow zigzag)
Stitch length: 2–2.5 mm (or as desired)
Needle position: Center
Feed dog: Up
Folded bias binding
You can use 10–14 mm wide bias binding (finished width 5–7 mm).
Unfolded bias binding
You can use 23 mm wide bias binding (finished width 5–7 mm).
Cut the leading edge of the bias binding diagonally and insert it into the guide of the binder foot, if necessary pushing it through the hole with a needle or scissors. Guide the bias binding to the back, under the foot. Insert the edge of the fabric to be bound into the guide between the bias tape. If necessary, the position of the needle or guide channel can be adjusted by loosening the screw so that the bias tape can be sewn close to the edge. Sew the bias tape, making sure it feeds properly with the fabric.
Quilted fabrics or multi-layered projects should be basted or finished before binding. Alternatively, you can also use a zigzag stitch. In this case, the position should be adjusted so that when the needle moves to the left, it pierces the fabric right next to the bias tape.
