The Elastic Foot guides and secures elastic from 6 to 12 mm wide.
Use it for sportswear, lingerie, and other techniques that require elastic.
1. Set the gray number on the Elastic Foot to 3 or 4. Align the number with the small metal arrow. The higher the number, the tighter the elastic will be.
2. Gently push the gray wheel toward the selected number and lift it up.
3. Apply the elastic into the opening of the longer groove at the bottom of the foot.
4. Lower the wheel onto the elastic and secure it in place by gently pulling it away from the numbered dial.
5. Turn the spool until the center groove of the roller touches the entire width of the elastic, allowing the elastic to feed straight.
6. Attach the Elastic Foot to the machine. Set the triple zigzag, length 1, width 5, and presser foot pressure 7-9. (The higher the pressure, the more the fabric will gather on the elastic.)
7. Place the fabric under the presser foot and sew. The fabric will be secured to the elastic as the elastic is pulled and secured in place. The higher the presser foot setting, the tighter the elastic will be.
